• The design project manager is responsible for transforming customer requirements into the most optimal cart design with shortest possible lead time.
• We look specifically for a German speaking person that can support our growth in Germany and Austria by interacting with our customers. Speaking Swedish is not a requirement but you need to be fluent in English as well as German.
TASKS
• Manage customer design projects primarily in Europe (Germany and Austria primarily)
• Define clear customer needs based on web meetings and communication with our European Sales Organization
• Discuss and recommend solutions for customers based on all existing solutions in our Solutions Library (where all of our designs are posted online)
• Always be up to date about all new intralogistic solutions and trends
• Communicate needs between customer and design resources
• Coordinate design resources to deliver cart projects according to specification and time plan
• Prepare and host DesignOnDemand (DOD) live design meetings with customers world wide (using GoToMeeting, Microsoft Lync or similar software)
• Prepare and host Face2Face meetings with customers at their plant
• Approval of requirements, projects and cart design
• General development of DOD and Technology Concepts (shelves, tow bars etc.)
• Describe cart functional requirements and test procedures for the distribution centers
• Approve product documentation and drawings
• Development of design processes to reduce lead time and cost
• Help out with marketing tasks like content management and updates on website, social media marketing and articles if needed (related to design and engineering)
• Search and find new and useful addons to our products and introduce external products to be combined with our concept
• Be open to 24/7 support for our distribution centers and design outsourcing in order to move projects forward
EXAMPLE KPIs
• Lead time from first customer contact to finalized cart (offer including documentation sent to customer)
• Number of customer meetings (DesignOnDemand or Face2Face)
• Number of won projects/orders
Bachelor or higher within mechanical/design engineering is a merit
Good knowledge in SolidEdge or similar CAD software
Hands on mechanical skills/Not afraid to get dirty!
Sales mindset
Fast and reactive customer service - fast to answer emails etc.
Great interest in product and production development
Creative and open to constantly learn new things
Great skills in IT tools open ability to quickly adapt to new tools
Structured and thorough
Goal oriented and willing to walk the extra mile
Fluent in German
Excellent skills in English
