The Exploration department is in an expansive phase with responsibilities in exploration in our underground mines, open pits, and their close surroundings in Kiruna, Malmberget and Svappavaara.
About the position
We are now looking for geologists to our near mine exploration groups in Kiruna, Svappavaara and Malmberget.
As a part of our teams, you work in close collaboration with other geologists and technicians in an interesting workplace with challenging duties and good opportunities for further development.
The near mine exploration department are, amongst other things, responsible for:
Planning and supervision of diamond drilling in and around the mine areas
Core logging & sampling
Interpretation of geological data
3D Modelling in Leapfrog
QAQC & validation of drill hole data
The positions are permanent but there might also be opportunities for short term contracts.
You will be based in the town of Kiruna or Gällivare, close to the mining operations, situated in Swedish Lapland above the Arctic Circle. The area offers great opportunities for fantastic outdoor activities, such as hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing, ice climbing, etc.
Skills & Competencies
We are looking for both junior geologists with 1-2 years of experience as well as a geologist with 5+ years of experience within exploration, mining or project development.
For both roles at least a B.Sc. degree in geology is required.
Knowledge of common softwares ' such as Leapfrog is beneficial.
As a person you should be responsible and driven, but also percipient and flexible. The positions include a lot of collaboration with others both within and outside the company, so good collaboration skills are essential.
You speak and write English fluently. It 's a plus if you speak and write Swedish, but if not, we want you to be eager to learn.
A Driving license is a requirement for the positions.
