hela Sverige Volvo Group Trucks Purchasing now looking for a General Counsel with global responsibility to support and develop the objectives for the legal and compliance function.
Together with a highly professional team of legal counsels you will monitor, assess and handle legal and compliance risks within the area of automotive and non-automotive purchasing throughout the world. You and your team will work in close cooperation with the business organization. You will report to the Executive Vice President for Group Trucks Purchasing and be a member of the GTP Executive Management Team (EMT).
You will be as well part of the Legal & Compliance Expert Community headed by the Executive Vice President for Group Legal & Compliance.
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the legal function has clearly formulated and agreed objectives, aligned with Group Trucks Purchasing' business plan and strategy
Ensure the legal function is adequately resourced and has the capacity, commitment and competence to provide high quality legal advice, negotiation support, relevant trainings and supporting documents such as contract templates and guidelines in a timely manner
Lead and challenge the legal function and inspire motivation, knowledge and cross functional team work within GTP and within Volvo Group
As a member of the EMT, participate in business decisions and contribute to the overall development and success of the GTP Division
Implement Volvo Group policies, strategies and procedures within the legal field and promote legal compliance
Champion a culture in line with Volvo values and a mind-set of proactively managing risks for the Volvo Group
Participate in Boards, Councils, Committees and Networks as deemed appropriate
Represent the legal function with external stakeholders as required

WHO ARE YOU?
Excellent analytical skills, proven excellent ability to apply legal, business and financial aspects from a Volvo Group perspective
Master of Laws and relevant Admission to the Bar. Formal training in leadership and communication are considered a merit
Minimum 15 years of relevant professional experience
Have extensive experience in purchasing business/transaction management, in particular supply chain crisis management (insolvency/restructuring), have gravitas in internal and external meetings, have extensive experience of providing advice to senior and top level management or the board of directors (at group or local level), have experience of or a particular interest in leading, mentoring and coaching other counsels, actively initiate and drive improvement and change
A can-do mindset with high drive and energy - i.e. willingness to 'go the extra mile' when needed
Strong communication and organization/prioritization skills
Strong personal credibility, integrity and creativity
Show a real talent for global and cultural integration
Proficiency in written and oral English is required
