The group Rotating Parts and Housings is a part of the Driveline section. As the name indicates, the group is responsible for rotating parts (e.g. gears, shafts, synchronizers, bearings) and housings to all our in-house transmissions. The group consists of 20 engineers with different roles, such as system engineers, component engineers, design engineers etc.

Position description
We are looking for a gear designer to be part of our team of 2 persons. The team is responsible for calculation, simulation and design of the gear macro and micro geometry. Moreover, material topics are an important part for the tasks for the team, such as e.g. heat treatment and shot peening. In addition, a close contact with gear manufacturing is also an important part of the everyday job.

Main task and responsibilities
• Define macro and micro geometry of gears and spline.
• Calculations of gears, both on detail and system level.
• Evaluation of vehicle usage and load collectives.
• Participate in the design and verification planning.
• Test object inspection and failure analysis.
• Ensure a robust design in collaboration with manufacturing functions.
• Take part in our method development.

Qualifications
• M.Sc. degree or higher
• Experience in durability/fatigue analysis
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Knowledge in NVH is seen as an asset

As this is a quite analytical position with a focus on driveline durability we think that in order to be successful you preferably have experience from powertrain engineering and/or calculation. A big part of your responsibility is to connect to various stakeholders within the company so good communication and networking skill is an asset.
