Game Licensing Director
Daltitten is a small boutique consultant company with select assignments in areas such as interim management and strategic advisory. Daltitten has a historic connection to China through investment and engagement in Chinese esports and the development of online games, as well as VR content development.

Daltitten has started to develop relationships in the area of game licensing, to support companies in Asia and potentially other markets, with select games from the European and US markets for publishing on various platforms in Asia.

Job description
The role as Game Licensing Director consists of two main areas. The first is to identify independent game developers in the Nordic region and northern Europe, and negotiate and sign publishing deals with them for the Asian markets. The second area is to cooperate with operators and game platforms and sign publishing deals for acquired game rights.

The job requires an understanding of what makes a good game and a serious game, and what makes a game stand out from the competition. It's also important to be able to handle negotiations with large game publishers and independent studios to secure rights and publishing terms that fit the business models and revenue levels in target markets.

It is important to be close to the Nordic and North European markets for building relationships with the publishers and studios in the market. This requires strong social skills as well as an ability to communicate on the highest management level.

When the publishing rights are acquired, the role will include communication with customers in Asia, which are game publishers looking for new and fresh mobile games and serious games to drive their platforms and revenue. The job will include the presentation of acquired licenses at regular intervals and negotiations with business partners in Asia, primarily Chinese-speaking markets.

The job will require extensive business travel in the Nordics and north Europe, and regular trips to Asia to handle contract relationships. As such the work is very independent, and it's important to be self-motivated and have a strong work ethic.

Finally, the position needs a passion for games in all forms, and you are, or have been, involved with the development and/or publishing work for games. You will use your passion to get a deeper understanding of our customer's needs and to find the best games to license before our competitors do.

Areas of responsibilities
The role has a diverse area of responsibility, which makes it both challenging and interesting:
• Identify and create relationships with game publishers and independent game/serious game studios in the Nordic market as well as northern Europe.
• Handle negotiations to secure rights for publishing in the Asian markets
• Handle the company's relationships with game publishers in Asia and create a customer profile to understand what type of games they are looking for.
• Make quarterly trips to Asia to maintain the relationships.
• Negotiate with Asian publishers to create the best licensing deals and meet contractual terms in the licensing contracts.
Administrate legal and company obligations with regard to signed agreements.
Continuously scout the Nordic and northern European markets for new games and secure the relationships to get the right information.

What we offer
We offer you a challenging and inspiring position in a growing business. You will be in a very small team, mostly working alone, but with strategic support when needed. It's therefore important to thrive in an environment where you manage all aspects of your work and travel. This role offers you a situation where you meet a lot of people, and build liaisons and business relationships that result in deals and contracts, and ultimately world-class games for our customers in Asia. In successful licensing, you will in addition to your salary, be part of profit sharing.
