The Air Cleaner and Fan System team is a development center, which means that we are responsible for developing solutions for both hardware as well as related functions in the areas of air cleaners and fan systems for the Volvo Group truck business globally.
The development center responsibility includes definition of global technology strategies for our areas, as well as the complete development from early technology development to maintenance of parts and systems introduced on Volvo Group trucks around the world. We are now looking for an Function Owner for powertrain installation functions to further strengthen our team!
Position Description
As Function Owner at Powertrain Installation you will be responsible for specification, documentation and verification of the end user functions within the powertrain installation area which includes the cooling fan control, but also functions related to other powertrain installation systems such as the air cleaner and other cooling system components and actuators.
You will be working in a very international environment in cross functional teams with both colleagues and suppliers worldwide. Your daily work includes capturing and sharing knowledge with the global organization.
Main responsibilities:
• Be responsible for specification, documentation and verification of the end user functions within the powertrain installation area through all phases of the product life cycle, from advanced engineering and project execution to product maintenance
• Analysis and breakdown of project prerequisites, time plans and targets
• Define, plan and follow-up calibration, testing, verification and validation activities towards functional requirement fulfilment
• Initiate and lead advanced engineering tasks to prepare for future technology needs
• Contribute to global technology strategies within the powertrain installation area
• Stay updated on market trends and technology research within the responsibility area
• Take the lead in quality investigations
• Document and spread learnings for future reference and knowledge reuse within the Volvo Group

Qualifications:
• MSc in mechatronics, control engineering, electronics or other relevant engineering field
• Minimum three years' experience from function development or similar area
• Minimum three years' experience from working in the automotive industry
• Knowledge in control engineering, mechatronics, electronics, system modelling and functional requirements
• Knowledge of cooling system, powertrain or vehicle technology is desired
• Fundamental skills in Matlab/Simulink
• Knowledge of agile development methodology
• Structured way of working and ability to plan complex tasks
• Analytical and self-driven with positive, global and problem solving mind-set
• Excellent communication skills
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Truck driving license will be considered an asset
