hela Sverige Luminator is a leading innovator in the design and manufacturing of communications and lighting products for more than 90 years in public transport transit industry. We are continuing to build our team by adding a Full stack Java Software Engineer to our Software Technology Development Center in Herrljunga. You will join a team that is developing new modules and services to global software suite for administration, diagnostic, remote and content management of passenger information units and systems for buses, trains, trams, or platform displays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
We are in an exciting phase of developing global software suite and we look forward having you with us on this journey. The work you do will be visible in daily life and important to millions of people around the globe traveling public transport. Together we aim to make people well informed by providing right information at right point in time with common goal to make public transport first choice of traveling. You enjoy working with scalable IoT systems and will be part of selecting solution and technologies.
Your primary focus will be to develop both client and server software including programming frontend web interface, backend applications and database.
For example you will:
• Help developing server-side logic, definition, and maintenance of the central database, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end, server-to-server and units communication to the server
• Design, implement and maintain responsive, fast, and scalable server applications, web services and APIs used by front-end
• Translate UX/UI design to actual code
• Design, implement and maintain responsive, fast, and scalable web user interface
• Identify areas of improvement in both new designs and bug fixes/refactoring opportunities
• Implement REST API to back end
Preferred Experience:
We expect you to have few proven years of work experience as a Full stack developer preferably in Java and Angular.
Since this module is built in a Linux environment with a tech stack as: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Angular, Apache Kafka, Java, Python, Bash-scripts, SQL-database, RESTful API - we expect you to have experience of a similar environment.
But that you've also built responsive web applications for maximum speed and scalability in Azure for hosting and Azure Devops and are familiar with automated unit, integration, and frontend test.
As a person we believe you are willing and eager to learn new things to improve yourself and the team. Have a proactive mindset with "Can do" attitude who identifies, plans, and executes what needs to be improved.
Your workspace will either be on site in Herrljunga or partly from your home office. We believe both in meeting in person and having the freedom of working remotely. Our office is in Herrljunga, right by the train station - super easy to commute by public transportation. About 30 minutes from Skövde, 20 minutes from Alingsås or 45 minutes from Gothenburg.
