In the shore excursion services business we aim to offer tours which surpass cruise travellers expectations and give each cruise traveller the opportunity to enrich their cruise vacation and make each port and excursion something to remember.
We are now looking for fluent French-speaking candidates who would like to work as CRUISE GUIDES during the upcoming summer seasons in the Malmö region.
As CRUISE GUIDE you will escort and guide groups of cruise travellers on tours to selected points of interest. Throughout the excursion, you will be showing and telling the story of the various attractions of the tour. You will guide both on bus and by foot providing commentary and informative talks on points of interest.
Cruise Guide Job Duties
• Greet tourists and describe the content and length of the tour.
• Conduct tours in the cities of Malmö, Lund, Copenhagen and Dragör, showing its landmarks, local points of interest, historical sites and other locations.
• Provide information about the area, including history and actual facts of interest.
• Answer any tourist questions.
• Ensure that tourists keep to the rules and regulations of the tour company and of the specific destinations.
• Deal with emergency situations in a professional and responsive manner.

Training
In order to be able to work as a Cruise Guide, you will need to attend a training cruise. The course will give you a good overview and knowledge of Swedish and Danish history, culture and traditions. The training course will take place during February and March 2015 in the city of Malmö. The course includes theory and practice as well as a final examination. Classes will be held on work-day evenings and weekends.
When the course is finished you will go through an examination. Approving the final examination is mandatory to be able to work as Cruise Guide.
What we offer:
European Cruise Service offers the free course where you will learn much about Swedish and Danish history, culture, tradition and much more, as well as guiding techniques, communication skills and group handling.
Once approved the examination ECS will offer you paid job as Cruise Guide during the upcoming cruise seasons (April-September) in the Malmö region.
