Omnio AB har en unik kunskap om sårläkning, och framförallt hur plasmaproteinet Plasminogen stimulerar läkning av sår som annars inte vill läka. Detta kan leda till att miljontals amputationer kan undvikas varje år, framförallt hos diabetiska patienter. Sedan november 2015 har vi ett strategiskt samarbete med det kanadensiska bioläkemedelsbolaget ProMetic Life Science som har en unik teknologi för att ta fram biologiska läkemedel från blodplasma. Omnio AB has unique knowledge of pro-inflammatory pharmaceuticals aimed towards wound healing. Our drug candidate can initiate and enhance the healing of wounds that otherwise are hard to heal, such as diabetic foot ulcers or chronic tympanic membrane perforations. Annually millions of diabetic patients undergo amputations of lower limbs due to non-healing foot ulcers. Together with our Canadian partner ProMetic Life Science we want to lower that number drastically by developing a protein drug that stimulate the wound healing process.
Beskrivning av arbetsuppgifter:
We are in the process of entering clinical trials and we therefore need to strengthen our pre-clinical team with three new positions. Due to the variation in work load which is to a large extent based on demands from the upcoming clinical trials, the nature of the work will vary considerably. Therefore we are looking for candidates who can do both routine work with standardized biomedical analysis procedures, as well as participate in research and development projects with less standardized protocols to explore new knowledge. Omnio is currently a small start-up, so we need people who are pragmatic and can work independently. You have to develop and adapt SOPs on the go, and often come up with creative ways to solve unforeseen problems. Within the different research and development projects we utilize both in-vitro and in-vivo models.
Beskrivning av kvalifikationer:
The successful candidate should therefore have experience from an active research environment since not only practical work, but also planning, analysing and reporting will be carried out in an independent fashion. Practical experience of biochemical and tissue analysis from both in-vivo and in-vitro experiments is highly desired. Graduate studies in biotechnology, molecular biology, biochemistry, biomedicine or related field required. Practical experiences with standard analytical methods within biomedicine/biochemistry, including practical knowledge and experience from research projects using animal models. Excellent English or Swedish is required, with at least the ability to perform report-writing, and give and take instructions for scientific work in English.
