Mercury Business Advisor Team Lead

The opportunity
We are looking for a team lead to our Mercury Business Advisor team within the EY Nordics Finance team to be based in any of the Nordic countries and the cities of Oslo, Copenhagen, Stockholm or Helsinki. The Mercury Business Advisor ("MBA") team plays a key role advising and supporting our client-serving engagement teams to make the best use of Mercury - EY's SAP system - and its processes in order to effectively manage their projects with EY's external clients. The Mercury Business Advisor is a finance professional with end-to-end system, process and policy knowledge who provides the right advice when it is needed, and partners with other functions to address the issues facing the business.

Your key responsibilities
The Mercury Business Advisor is a finance expert with deep knowledge and experience of the financial elements of Contact to Cash (C2C). In the role as Team Lead, you will be the subject matter expert for our Contact to Cash process and responsible for developing our MBA team.
Coach, coordinate and develop the MBA team as Trusted Business Advisors.
Drive, coordinate and coach the MBA team to deliver in line with strategy and operational responsibilities.
Subject Matter expert for the Contact to Cash process.
Escalates complex queries to a network of functional experts across finance, IT, tax, risk etc.

Leadership and coaching:
Able to operate across multiple projects and priorities.
A successful track record of implementing and leading key business change initiatives.
Experienced in effectively building, leading, managing and coaching a team of finance professionals.
Teams with finance colleagues and other functions to enhance service to clients and leverage best practices.


Client service:
Able to embed Exceptional Client Service practices throughout the finance team and deliverables.
Focused on analysis, advice and solutions that drive the modernization and continuous improvement of financial performance.


Analysis, modelling & advice:
Forms and communicates a clear and concise view of financial performance.
Synthesizes and communicates detailed financial and market information to support effective decision making.
Utilizes sound financial practices and seeks leading practices to achieve operational excellence.


To qualify for the role you must have:
Graduate and/or professional certification in a business-related subject matter (i.e. Accounting, Finance) is required to perform this position.
Higher degree in Business Management with strong academic results.
Fluent in English, written and spoken.

Ideally, you'll also have
Experience in an external client serving role in a professional services organisation is desirable to be able to look at issues from a client serving perspective.
Familiarity with SAP.
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
Excellent communication skills both written and spoken.
Ability to run effective presentations.
A good understanding of engagement economics, and strong analytical skills to determine the partners/engagement teams in need of outreach.
A strong ability to learn quickly and share knowledge, combined with the ability to apply judgement and seek guidance when appropriate.
Strong listening, communication and partnering skills with people of all levels of the firm.
