You will be responsible for managing accounts payable from scanning and coding to the accounting and reconciliations. Furthermore, you will be an important part of the finance work where communication with our African offices is crucial to ensure correct accounting.
The position is part time 40%-60% to begin with. There is the possibility of extended working hours and responsibilities.

You are a structured and efficient person, who loves to work with numbers. You are good at understanding the context and quick at learning new software. You are also curious to learn new things and find solutions to emerging problems. As this is a part-time job, it is important that you are good at planning, you are able to work effectively, to collaborate with other staff members, and manage to combine this position with your other possible commitments. You are humble and ready to assist where it is needed. You like new challenges and can handle additional tasks effectively, rather than getting stressed.
As the organisation's working language is English but you will be also working with Swedish materials, you need to be proficient in both English and Swedish language.
You have ongoing or recently completed university studies in economics/finance or equivalent.
The Life & Peace Institute (LPI) is an international organisation that supports and promotes non-violent approaches to conflict transformation through a combination of research and action that entails the strengthening of existing local capacities and enhancing preconditions for building peace. LPI works in the Horn of Africa and Great Lakes regions with offices in Sweden, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia and Kenya. We are now in need to strengthen our finance department and are therefore looking for a finance assistant for our head office in Uppsala.
