hela Sverige The Department of Soil and Environment is looking for a fied assistant. The department conducts research, environmental analysis and education in soil science and sustainable land use. The majority of the department's activities and employees are located in the Soil-Water-Environment building on the SLU Ultuna campus in Uppsala, and there is a research group with a field research station situated in Skara.
Duties:
The field asssistant will carry out a field survey taking soil samples in Abisko, help in the lab with an incubation experiment and spend time on identification/counting of soil fauna in the microscopy lab. The work will be conducted at the Abisko Scientific Research Station. Microscopy can in agreement be carried out at another suitable place (e.g. SLU Uppsala).
Qualifications:
At least bachelor exam in a relevant subject (Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science) or other relevant field/lab experience. The field-tasks require the candidate to move around and work independently in relatively remote mountainous areas. Languages: Swedish or English (or Dutch). Driving license (B) is a requirement.
