The Arena

The department Pharmaceutical Technology & Development is accountable for delivering the design, innovative, efficient and robust processes for the manufacture of drug substance and product. The supply chain of products for safety and clinical trials and the generation of information and knowledge to ensure regulatory approval of new products.

The area Drug Product Manufacture (DPM) in Gothenburg manufactures prototype products (e.g. oral/inhaled solution/suspension, parenteral solutions, capsules, tablets and pellets) to AstraZeneca clinical studies around the globe. Drug Product Manufacturing supporting a wide portfolio of projects across all AstraZeneca therapy areas. We establish numerous new products annually, and with an overall supply of products to approximately 25 projects yearly. As a Facility Manager Lead you will be joining our team and make an important contribution in delivering science for development and manufacture of new medicines.

The role

This is a technically advanced role, with no direct reports. As a Facility Manager Lead you will need to have a strong technical competence, credibility and ability to give assured direction and provide expertise regarding Facilities (HVAC, media systems, CIP), integrated Equipment all with Good Manufacture Practice (GMP) validated status. Your responsibility is to assure that we have the requested capability and quality demanded of the pharmaceutical projects. You will have a strong focus on maintain, monitor and develop the condition and usage of the Good Manufacture Practice assets.

The role holder lead facility governance board and collaborates closely with internal and external partners ensuring compliance and continuous improvement of capacity and capability within the framework of Good Manufacture Practice and Safety Health & Environment, working as key contact and set the right quality standard.

This includes that facilities are validated, monitored (Environmental Monitoring System) serviced and calibrated according to agreed schedules. You are a main point of contact for troubleshooting and technical knowledge as well as development/maintenance of procedures and training material. You will have the responsibility to coordinating and lead the activities with any changes as refurbishment and installation of new equipment within the facility. The role holder also participates in the preparation and provides documents and explanation concerning the processes and facility for regulatory inspections at the Gothenburg site.

Requirements

* BSc/MSc in chemistry/pharmacy/engineering or equivalent experience.
* Excellent technical knowledge within Facility/ Equipment and interdependencies
* Good project leadership skills (has the ability to operate independently in good collaboration in a culturally diverse, complex and changing environment)
* Good understanding of development within the industry and how they impact the function
* Excellent documentation skills both in English and Swedish
* Knowledge from manufacturing equipment and automated systems is meritorious

You will have knowledge of cGMP and appreciation of principles, applications and management of Engineering, Automation and current Quality Management standards.
