Under Älmhult Municipalitys umbrella, The International School of Älmhult - ISÄ, is an IB World School (International Baccalaureate) that has been growing rapidly and has 450 students currently. Housed in Swedens biggest modern Passive House, we are committed to creating conscious and compassionate world citizens. We offer the Early Years Programme (förskola), the Primary Years Programme (åk F-4) and the Middle Years Programme (åk 5-9).
WORK TASKS
At ISÄ, our vision is to inspire lifelong learning through collaboration, communication, and taking positive actions in our environment. We are looking for a Deputy Head, who can help us realize this vision and work in line with the IBO.*
Your work tasks include, but are not limited to:
• lead the EYP team and ensure that the school and students comply with IBO regulations
• work close together with the PLT (Pedagogical Leadership Team)
• work together with the PYP coordinator to lead the curricular development
• complete all documentation in English
• communicate effectively with all stakeholders and in all formats (presentations, one on one, small group, etc)
This is a 50% position.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful applicant will:
• have a pedagogical qualification
• have IB training
• be an excellent, flexible and effective communicator in all forms of English: written and spoken
• be able to respond positively to change
• be able to collaborate effectively
• work positively and effectively with staff and parents
• be able to lead the development of the IB curriculum with coming changes
Additionally, any of the following should be met:
• Experience with Early years teaching
• Leadership experience
• IB evaluation or authorization experience
