EXPERT ACCOUNTING GOVERNANCE

The Accounting Governance department, within Group Finance, is now looking for an Expert, responsible for supporting the Company's objectives related to maintaining a well-controlled business and high quality financial external reporting.


Being an Expert within the Accounting Governance team means that you will have to think and act globally and be involved in our global financial processes. In this role, you will be part of a team of approximately 4 employees based in Gothenburg, all keen on ensuring high quality financial external reporting and provision of IFRS technical guidance to other parts of the organization.

Accounting Governance is working closely with Volvo Car Group subsidiaries all over the world giving guidance, ensuring adherence to the Volvo Car Group's Finance Manual and participating in different projects and accounting topics. Working in the Accounting Governance department gives a big opportunity to a wide circle of contacts within Volvo Car Group as well as getting a comprehensive view of the financial activities within the group. The position will require extensive contact with different positions within Group Finance, Global Finance Operations and Business Control as well as with external auditors.

Main responsibilities:

* Responsibility for the Finance Manual for the group
* Decide on accounting treatment in different projects
* Decide on accounting treatment related to all kind of agreements
* Have an active role in external accounting forums
* Be updated on IFRS development
* Communicate development in a clear and concise way to senior management
* Lead or participate in different projects
* Drive accounting related questions with external auditors

Required qualifications:

* Very interested in accounting and financial reporting questions, and eager to learn more
* Positive attitude and willingness to drive change in a dynamic environment
* Ability to prioritize to deliver on commitments
* Ability to take own initiatives to further develop the financial reporting
* A good communicator and able to build strong relationships within the organization
* Education - Minimum a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, preferably with a major in Finance and Accounting (or equivalent).
* Fluent in English, oral and written
* Experience (minimum 3 years) of accounting in an international organisation
* Broad knowledge in IFRS accounting principles
* Good analytical skills
* Good presentation skills
* Good writing skills
