hela Sverige On behalf of our client within pharmaceutical industry we are now looking for an experienced research scientist in the Ion channel area for a six month consultant assignment with start January 2012. During this assignment you will support an ongoing pre-clinical research projects by working with various electrophysiological techniques, including automated electrophysiology platform technologies.
You will contribute to the design (assay development and validation) of experimental procedures and be responsible for running in vitro pharmacology screening models for Drug Discovery projects.
You will analyse and interpret experimental data (including data from large screening data sets) and independently plan and carry out further experiments.
Requirements
• PhD or an academic degreee with relevant working experience in the described electrophysiology field, preferably in the drug discovery industry.
• The ability to communicate in English.
• Prior experience with in vitro patch-clamp electrophysiology, as well as an excellent understanding of electrophysiological principles and ion channel biology.
• Experience of working with automated electrophysiology platforms (IonWorks, PatchXpress, Qpatch, etc).
• Excellent knowledge about pharmacological parameters and assay design.

• Should be result-oriented with a high scientific standard in combination with a focus on delivery.
• Must have a positive can-do attitude, excellent communication skills and possess the ability to contribute to a positive team environment.
• The candidate should have a positive attitude to changing environment and activities, shown by ease to take on new laboratory assignments.
