Job Description:
We are looking for a talented individual to strengthen our engineer team at Global Components (part of R&D Handheld Petrol at Husqvarna Group); a Component Specialist for Cylinder and Piston Engineering who wants to develop our future handheld products for forest and garden.

Your role:
You will be part of a team of 8 specialists who primarily support the Husqvarna Division with new designs and expertise regarding cylinders and pistons. As a Component Specialist you will be working with new design, developing of new concepts and technical solutions as well as quality improvements etc. The role will provide you with a broad network, both internally and externally, and you will work closely with project teams, verification groups, suppliers, etc. The role gives you the opportunity to expand your own skills in product development and ability to create specialist knowledge in selected areas. Within the organisation you will find all important functions for conducting an R&D business such as material lab, verification lab, prototyping workshop, CAE department, etc. This creates a unique environment for those who want to work with and continuously develop within mechanical engineering.
Your profile:
To thrive in this role, you are initiative, curious, driven and have a great interest in technical details. You should enjoy working alone as well as in a team. You have good communication skills and you are comfortable speaking and writing in English. We believe you have a Master's degree in mechanical engineering (or similar education) and at least 3 years of experience from R&D, within the Automotive industry. You are used to work in 3D-CAD and knowledge from Catia V5 is a merit. You have experience from designing aluminium castings and we believe you also are familiar with other material such as steel, different surface treatments, solid mechanics/fatigue and heat transfer. You have experience from working with design reviews (together with suppliers) and you are used to work with DFM (design for manufacturing) and GD&T (tolerances). It is a merit if you have knowledge from quality work, DFMEA, testing and also experience from different research projects. It is also preferable if you have knowledge from any of following programs; Ricardo PisDyn, Fearce, Ringpak, Catia V5, Smarteam and MS Project. It is a requirement that you speak and write English fluently and it is also advantageous if you speak Swedish and/or German.
