Coalition Clean Baltic (CCB) is an international network of 20 democratic environmental NGOs in 11 countries in the Baltic catchment. CCB is a non-profit organization, established in 1990, working for the protection of the Baltic Sea environment, with focus on water-related issues in the Baltic Sea Region. CCB unites NGOs from Belarus, Finland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Ukraine and Sweden. The CCB member organisations have over 800.000 members combined in all countries around the Baltic Sea. CCB has an elected Board and has a secretariat in Uppsala, Sweden We work towards sustainable ecosystem-based management of Baltic natural resources, and spread knowledge and information in order to influence the direction of Baltic regional and European agriculture, fisheries, water & marine environmental policies. CCB is now recruiting a new Executive Secretary. We are looking for an experienced individual, who could bring in strategic, innovative thinking to lead CCB's head office (International secretariat) in Uppsala, Sweden, supporting a small team of experts (2-3 people). You will perform and direct all everyday tasks that are needed to successfully manage the CCB organization and its networking, based on the programmatic decisions of both the Board and the General Meeting. Together with our Board, you will be responsible for designing and transposing the work programme and budget, managing current project activities, as well as securing future funding. We work in an international environment with partners across the Baltic Region and in Brussels, engaging with decision-makers, civil servants, NGOs and the environment-agriculture-fishing sectors. Previous experience of environmental, agriculture and fisheries policy work, strategical understanding of the EU political processes, EU environmental legislation and a keen interest for developments in these areas is necessary. The job is a full-time position starting in summer of 2015 at the latest. The post is based at our office in Uppsala, Sweden. CCB is a member of the Employers' Alliance (Arbetsgivaralliansen) and we apply their agreement for non-profit organisations.

You should bring the following skills and experience:
• A talent for teamoriented work, also incorporating the national member organization's concerns and views
• Very good knowledge of the Baltic Sea environment and its environmental problems
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken), knowledge of other major Baltic region languages is an advantage
• Experience in fundraising and writing funding applications
• An established contact network within the Baltic/EU environment policy world
• Documented experience of managing staff and projects
