Stora Enso Legal Ethics and Compliance is a corporate function and one of four functions within the legal organization. Ethics and Compliance consists of counsels and managers operating both on Group level and on Division level.
The overall responsibilities of Group Ethics and Compliance are to:
• Own and develop policies within the subject area
• Own and manage training and information sharing for Stora Enso employees and suppliers globally in Ethics and Compliance related issues
• Carry out risk management evaluations
• Carry out investigations together with Internal audit

Group Ethics and Compliance is being reorganized and strengthened. One of the actions taken is to appoint Ethics and Compliance Counsels for each operating Division with the work tasks described below. Apart from being responsible for the ethics and compliance related work on Division level, the counsel will also perform group wide tasks and duties related to ethics and compliance.

Ethics and Compliance Counsel, responsible for ethics and compliance related work on Division level but also performing group wide ethics and compliance related work. Reporting to the Lead Counsel of Group Ethics and Compliance, who in turn reports to Head of Global Ethics and Compliance/General Counsel. To become an integrated member of the Group Ethics and Compliance function under Stora Enso Group Legal and, at the same time, gain a deep and thorough understanding of the business, functions and operations of the Division in question. The gatekeeper of ensuring compliance with the Stora Enso Ethics and Compliance policies and to report transparently and accurately to internal stakeholders.

Role discription:

* Roll-out and implementation of the Stora Enso Code of Conduct and other relevant Group or Division level Ethics & Compliance related policies
* Facilitating and organizing ethics and compliance risk assessments and maintain transparent communication with Group Ethics and Compliance
* Ethics & compliance training and information sharing/communication
* Proactively, practically and constructively advising on all matters relating to Ethics & Compliance
* Work seamlessly with Internal Audit function and conduct early case investigations,
* Reporting and identifying ethics and compliance incidents & metrics to the Management Teams, Division Legal, and to Group Ethics and Compliance
* Conducting ethics & compliance (e.g. corruption) risk assessments
* Upholding other required compliance processes
* General support in respect of implementation of Group policies, investigations, training needs, and development of new Ethics & Compliance policies, trainings, communications and processes
* Work seamlessly with the Responsibility function on Code of Conduct issues such as third parties/associated persons

Partnership & Integrity

* Partner and work seamlessly with other key company functions such as Group Management, Group Legal, Global Responsibility, Internal Audit, and HR
* Integrate with high integrity with the Divisions' different operations to ensure clear understanding of, and attention to, compliance requirements, potential issues and opportunities for enhancement
* Able to launch and uphold tough sanctions against all levels of employees.

Requirements/ Qualifications:

* LLB/LLM from a reputable university.
* 5 plus years of code of conduct and business practice policy compliance experience at a large law firm or a corporate legal department, including but not limited to drafting policies, training, auditing and providing solutions.
* Demonstrated capacity standing up to challenging business conditions and harsh demands in a cross-culture environment including operations in growing markets.
* Proven team leadership experience.
* Demonstrated experience from identifying and resolving legal/compliance issues quickly and effectively and ability to take real time decisions.
* Proven integrity and high ethical standards
* Ability to communicate using English and outstanding interpersonal skills.
* Ability to travel internationally and domestically.
* Enthusiastic on compliance tasks and responsibilities

Desired characteristics:

* Knowledge and experience in anti-corruption law in China, EU and US
* Experience from ethics and compliance audit works.
* Experiences from ethics and compliance works in emerging markets.
* Innovative and knowledgeable in general digitalization and compliance systems and tools.

Location:

Falun. The position includes travelling.
