That's the point of being a consultant - getting out of your comfort zone and being challenged. Clients have different business logic, technologies and environments. At Erlang Solutions AB it's about the team: where the team wants to go, we can take the business. You can help form the team and the direction of the business. But at the core, we specialise in Erlang solutions using the Erlang ecosystem in all its shapes and forms.
Problem-solving is the main skill for any programmer. All our consultants need to attain the level of architect. Once you get beyond the syntax of Erlang, Elixir, or LFE you get into the realm of design trade-offs for how you architect the system - that knowledge is the key to unlocking the reliability, resilience, and scalability of Erlang/OTP solutions for our clients.
Teamwork and communication are also key when you are a consultant. Sometimes we work on our own products or internal teams, but most often we are part of the customer team - advising and coaching them.
You should be a good communicator, versatile, flexible, and analytical.
Above all, you love Erlang. You may not have a lot of experience yet, but you want to build concurrent, distributed systems. You understand that there are many gateways into the world of Erlang (Alpaca, Efene, Elixir, Joxa, LFE, Luerl, Prolog ... ) but you aspire to be an Erlang designer and architect to unlock the benefits of Erlang/OTP and the BEAM.
At Erlang Solutions we build ... Erlang solutions! Mainly backend but also full-stack, using languages inside & outside the Erlang ecosystem. We have a passion for Erlang. It's a lifestyle choice. The team in Sweden ranges from junior, to low-level designers, to one of the inventors of Erlang - so you will be in good company!
