Description
We are looking for a colleague with drive and good communication and cooperation skills. You will have a great opportunity to develop best in class environmental leadership, based on input from regulatory issue inventory, own expertise and dialogue with internal experts.
Key responsibilities:
You are actively engaged and updated on the latest environmental topics and legislative processes and the strong link between Group Sustainability and Smelters Sustainability team and environmental experts at the Smelter sites.
You ensure coordination of Boliden's smelters regulatory issues and environmental matters and take responsibility for coordinating activities between five smelters, located in Sweden, Finland and Norway, and for disseminating best practices between them.
Coordinate Boliden Smelter's representatives in industry associations and relevant taskforces such as ICA, IZA, NI, ILA, Eurometaux and ICMM, and ensure effective communication with stakeholders on the prioritized regulatory issues.
Lead Boliden Smelters Public Affairs Network as well as participate in the Boliden Group Public Affairs Network and represent Boliden at relevant taskforces considering environmental issues.
Boliden Smelters treat raw materials and extract valuable metals in the most sustainable way which we deliver to industrial customers. We invest considerable resources in efficient systems, advanced technology, and stable processes to continue on our state-of-the-art environmental performance.
The role is based at the Boliden headquarters in Stockholm. Other locations in close connection to stakeholders can be discussed. You will have shorter business trips monthly, and you report to our Sustainability Manager, Boliden Smelters.
Education and qualifications
You have strong logical thinking skills, take initiative, are result oriented and a team player with good social skills. You are inspired by problem solving and continuous improvements and have the courage and creativeness to propose new solutions. You are structured and process oriented with the ability to communicate crisply and clearly, and to "simplify the complex".
You have a convincing style and ability to build and maintain relationships and influence the organization without formal mandates.
You have a university degree in Environmental Management, Sustainability, Political Science or acquired skills at the corresponding level.
You have experience from legislative and/or political processes, such as the national/regional authorities or EU/international organizations. You have several years' experience in Environmental Management and Public Relations, if it is from metal or other process industry it would be meritorious.
Your English is excellent and if you know Swedish or Finnish it's a merit. Experience in project management is also an advantage.
