JOB DESCRIPTION
The department New Video Products (NVP), currently consisting of three product development teams, is growing and we need to split the current teams in order to reach full focus on each product category as well as creating the possibility to host further growth. As an engineering manager within NVP you will be responsible for a number of product development projects taking the product from idea to volume production including everything from electronics, mechanics, software, user documentation and industrialization. You will also be the direct line manager for project managers and engineers that populate parts of your product development projects.
Working as an engineering manager within NVP makes you a spider in the web since you have a lot of contacts within the Axis organization such as: Product management – who orders the products, Technologies – who provides the technology platform, Operations – who handles the production, and more…
Your responsibilities will include:
• Being curious in your product area to be able to be a driving force with R&D perspective
• Road mapping activities together with product management and technology providers
• Appraisal, development and salary talks
• Team building and motivation
• Recruitment
• Development of working methods within team and with internal suppliers/customers
• Budgeting
You will report to the director of the New Video Products department.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for a person that is passionate about both product development and leadership, that can create a stimulating and creative working environment while maintaining focus on important deliveries. You must be easy to cooperate with, considering the many interfaces, but it is also important that you can make your own voice heard when the success of your product category is at stake.
Your educational background most likely includes a master’s degree in relevant area. We further believe that you have been working with technical project management for some years and now want to move on, or recently have moved on, to a role as line manager driven by your passion to develop people and organization.
