Engineering Finance - let's introduce ourselves

Engineering Finance is responsible for securing the profitability of our future and existing products and services controlling both Product Streams and Complete Car Programs regarding Engineering Cost, Material Cost, and Investments.

As an Engineering Controller, you will be able to create, develop and influence your daily work. Your focus will lie on engineering spend in terms of salaries, bought development service, test objects etc. As a part of a global team, you will collaborate with competent and engaged people throughout the company. We are constantly developing in the area of data science, and you will have plenty of opportunities to work with automation, creation, and refinement of Power BI reports and analytical tools.

This role is located in Gothenburg.

What you'll do

You will work together with the Business Controller and the operational team in Propulsion & Energy in providing financial recommendations and analysis work. Details below are the major responsibilities of an Engineering Controller:

* You will be the financial speaking partner for the line management in Propulsion & Energy and drive the work related to actuals, forecasts, business plan etc.
* Perform analysis on engineering spend in the monthly closing process and present to management.
* Collaborate with our collegaues in Shanghai and consolidate the global view for Vehicle Propulsion.
* Create presentations and reports for various decision forums in collaboration with Business Controller.
* Actively initiate corrective actions to ensure financial targets are met. Challenge the operations and our affiliates regarding accountability, ownership, and precision in forecasting.
* Act as a coach and contribute to the fostering of a business orientated mindset by providing financial expertise and putting cost into a context.
* Develop principles, processes, and tools to improve the controlling agenda.

What you'll bring

We believe you have a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Data Science or similar. You possess a strong business acumen, high level of integrity and very good analytical skills.

To be successful in this role it is crucial that you are able to understand, interpret, and communicate financial information in a contextual and visual manner. You are used to planning and prioritizing your work and driving for results together with the teams around you. As a person you are curious, flexible, and able to see opportunities where others see problems. We operate in a global environment, hence, fluency in English is a must.

Desired qualifications:

* Experience from finance or R&D is meritorious.
* Skills in Power BI, AI, or data science.
