Volvo Construction Equipment AB Component Division has the responsibility for development and manufacturing of driveline components to Volvo’s construction equipment. Development of electronic systems is also a part of the responsibility. Component Division has app. 1 250 employees. The business is located to Eskilstuna, but manufacturing is also performed in co-operation with other companies in different places.
The engine development department is the core centre within Volvo CE for engines and auxiliary systems. The main work areas are mechanical engine design, performance/application development and mechanical auxiliary system design. Today we develop engine systems for wheel loaders, articulated haulers, excavators, graders and road machinery.
In order to meet our customers increased expectations, we need to improve our capacity within the engine maintenance area. As a design engineer you will be responsible for solving field problems and production problems. You will also work with cost rationalization for engines in running production. The development work is done in close co-operation with Volvo Powertrain and our business lines.
You will work in a product maintenance team and be responsible for mechanical design, quality and verification specifications for Volvo CE parts. Genuine quality consciousness is a key competence in our work.
Qualifications:
M.Sc or B.Sc
Experienced in mechanical design work (CAD and PDM)
High ability to plan and structure your work
Fluent in English
Very high ability to take initiatives
Interest in engines is seen as a merit
Result oriented
