Volvo Penta is happy to announce that we are now recruiting a Development Engineer.
We believe that you have a genuine interest of working within testing and optimization of diesel engines and we expect that you have both the knowledge of fundamental combustion theory and experience of developing Diesel Engines
About us
Engine Development Testing within Product Development is responsible for testing and optimization of both Hardware and Software regarding performance, emission and durability of all our Diesel Engines up to 16 litres, both for Marine and Industrial applications.
There are about 60 Engineers working in different projects. We are divided into three departments; HDEP (Heavy Duty Engine Platform), MDEP (Medium Duty Engine Platform) and Marine. The teams are handling complete engine calibration, engine software and hardware testing.
As a Development Engineer Engine Testing, you will be responsible for delivering test and optimization tasks. You will be a part of a project team within marine engine testing.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Tests and tasks can be everything from a specific comparison measurement, a durability test or a complete hardware selection for a project. You will plan, run, analyse and report all different types of tests.
Optimization tasks can be all from a sensor linearization to final complete engine software setting for production. You will be responsible for delivering the optimization for a specific engine.
Tests and optimization tasks can be run both in test cells and in real applications such as boats and off road vehicles.
We look for candidates with ambition and ability to lead projects in the future, a team member who is interested in Product Development in general, but preferably towards testing and optimization of diesel engines. Since the job consists of a net of contacts internally and externally, your networking skills are highly valued.

Requirements
• Your CV should contain listed qualifications in academic degrees B.Sc. or M.Sc.
• Experience in engine development
• You should be able to communicate in both English and Swedish
• Have a valid driver license
