Energy specialist at Volvo Group

The future is here. If you would like to be part of this change journey, we would like you to join us. Read on...

This is us, your new colleagues

The Raw Material team is part of business controlling at Volvo Group Trucks Purchasing. We develop and deploy commodity market expertise, tools, methods and governance. These enable the Volvo Group to secure and enhance its raw material related performance and thus provide a competitive advantage to its brands. Like raw material, we see that energy price volatility could potentially become a cost driver to periodically address on some commodities in a structured way with our supply partners. We would like to do this in a fair & reasonable manner and at the same time create for ourselves a competitive advantage, especially in front of the automotive sector's transition to electromobility & green energy.
Our team is globally spread across Asia, Europe and the Americas and is considered a center of excellence today on raw material (commodity) markets that we'd now like to extend to energy. As part of our scope today, we cover various materials like flat steel, iron castings, forging steel, base metals, precious metals, plastics, rubber, new battery materials etc. Our expertise is used to support and control Volvo Group Purchasing, to ensure Volvo Group's competitiveness and eventually our customers' success. Working together in a global team is definitely an opportunity for some interesting cross-cultural experiences.
As part of the transformation journey, we are now looking to expand our expertise in energy (electricity to start with), so that we continue to provide the more than ever needed competitive advantage to our brands.
