Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT) - Electromobility is the global, strategic center for Electromobility development within the Volvo Group. By 2040, the entire sales of Volvo Group vehicle shall be fossil free and already by 2030, the annual sale of Electric Trucks will be 100 000 trucks. To be in the forefront of environmental friendly transport solutions for a more sustainable tomorrow, Electromobolity is a key area for Volvo Group.
Since 2019 we have been located in Volvo's new center for new Technologies; CampX. This is where the Battery Electrical Vehicle stream is co-located and in 2021, the CampX will grow to double size and also include Fuel cells, joint venture with Daimler as well as the Autonomous drive development - an inspiring environment!
Role description:
In the role as an Electrical Machine Engineer, you work as a component engineer for the Electric Motor (EM). You work close with our suppliers, managing the work distribution and making sure the suppliers understand the technical requirements here at Volvo as well as understanding the needs of our customers and application.
In the role, you are also responsible for maintenance and quality improvements, recommendation of supplier during sourcing and evaluate new- and select the internal component. We also see that you take lead in secure cross-functional and business anchoring as well as lead other engineer within the area when needed. Other tasks that are included in the roll;
Actively work with the teams JIRA backlog during the Program Increment
Identify and drive quality improvements and cost reduction activities
Development of component TR and secure RTS work with supplier
Secure installation requirements and PAA
Who are you?

You have a strategic ability to understand, identify and adapt to future needs and challenges. You also have adequate planning and organizing abilities and are comfortable in communicating in English, both spoken and written.
Required knowledge/experience
Mechanical and/or Electromechanical Engineering degree
Experience in electrical motor design
Experience from propulsion systems in battery electric vehicles
Extended experience in development of electrical motor drive systems (incl. transmission and power electronics integration)
CAD (Creo)
