hela Sverige The team of traction motor electrical engineers is responsible for the electro-magnetic and thermal design of the traction motors (TM) within Bombardier Transportation. This includes working with electro-magnetic and thermal simulations within bids, order and development projects. Another part of the work is the participation in laboratory tests on traction motors to validate the simulations and the product.
YOUR ROLE
• Review customer requirements, make electro-magnetic design, perform performance and temperature simulations, cooperate with converters, systems and converter control to optimize the propulsion system. Write design specification for mechanical design.
• Take part in different product development projects. Could be anything from investigating new ideas, detailed FEM simulations, improvement and development of analytical tools for electro-magnetic design to developing thermal models and performing specific tests.
• Specify test to be performed on the TMs in order projects. Discuss with lab on how to execute tests.
• Collect data from tests. Evaluate test results with respect to performance, losses and temperatures. Feedback results to design tools. Summarize test results in report and get it approved by the customer.
MSc degree or PhD graduate in Electrical Engineering, preferably in the field of power systems and electrical machines;
Minimum 3 - 5-year relevant experience in the field of electro-magnetic and thermal design of traction motors;
Good knowledge in Mechanical design of traction motors and mechanical drive systems;
Knowledge in working with MATLAB;
English at a business fluent level is mandatory;
Swedish at a business fluent level is beneficial for the job.
