THE POSITION
As Electrical engineer with focus on electric and magnetic phenomena associated with MCTs (multi-cable transits), you will join our Electromagnetics team, be part of the Product Development & Engineering department and work closely together with electromagnetic engineers, product and design engineers and test technicians. The role combines development, evaluation and testing of the performance of Roxtec solutions with aspect of electrical properties. As Roxtec provides solutions that protect against multiple risks, the work also includes various testing of water, gas, and fire protection properties. The work will be to verify tomorrow's new product performance as well as existing solutions to ensure long-term functionality.
In the role of Electrical engineer, you will:
• Specialize in electrical safety, bonding, earthing/grounding, potential equalization, lightning protection and other electric and magnetic phenomena such as high-voltage flash over and inductive heating
• Be a technical resource helping interpret standards and regulations regarding the products and how to use them
• Plan and lead product tests at the internal laboratory but also at external laboratories
• Perform different electric and magnetic tests in cooperation with a team consisting of electromagnetic engineers and test technicians
• Act as a technical resource in development projects
• Identify needs of today and for the future
• Evaluate products and their test results, and suggest product improvements
• Support our organization with technical knowledge and expertise
• Evaluate test techniques, and analyze new techniques and methods
• Work actively for improvement of our electromagnetic laboratory
The position belongs to Electromagnetics which is a part of the Product Development & Engineering department. Within PD&E, there are several engineering disciplines gathered so we benefit from a lot of cross-functional knowledge. For us, it is as important to understand why things work, as why they do not.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements are minimum a university degree in electronics or equivalent knowledge and preferred experience in electrical safety such as installation codes and standards.
We believe that you have relevant work experience related to electrical safety and product testing in some sense. Product knowledge of Roxtec products is a big advantage.
We pay great attention to your personal features and to your broad technical experience. You enjoy teamwork in close cooperation with others, both in Karlskrona but also with personnel at our different subsidiaries around the world. You also have a strong will when it comes to solving problems and responding to questions that may occur.
Experience in high-voltage or high-current applications is beneficial.
Driver's license level B.
You must manage spoken as well as written English.
The post of employment is at the headquarters in Karlskrona and business travel is included in the role.
