FACTS Customer Service is growing and the number of installed plants is continuously increasing around the globe. This is where you will enter the picture. You will join the Customer Service Technology department and work together with a collaborative team of approximately fifteen people operating on a dynamic and global arena. As Electrical Design Engineer, you will work with plant, control and protection design to support our customers' needs. This opens up for stimulating responsibilities where you will play a key role in updates and upgrade projects - involving everything from tenders, design and implementation to verification and commissioning.

An important part of your job will be to manage electrical design and interface discussions with our customers and local ABB companies. To make occasional business trips to our installed base worldwide will also be part of your agenda. Look forward to creating a large network as you have close contacts with other engineering groups, warranty and project managers as well as local ABB offices and - of course - our customers. At FACTS, you will have excellent development and career opportunities, both domestic and international.

You combine a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering with a major in Electrical Engineering or a closely related area with a few years' experience from working with FACTS' systems or similar products. If you have knowledge of deliveries of electrical power plants, converter stations, process control systems or substation automation, it is advantageous.

As ABB is a truly global company, excellent English, both oral and written, is required while Swedish and other language skills are considered an additional qualification. A strong interest in, as well as the desire to, learn more about our business and systems are absolutely vital. An outgoing personality is also a must, as this job entails a great deal of customer contacts and cooperation with colleagues. The ability to work independently as well as in teams is required, both at the office and on site.

The ABB Power Grids division is the world's leading supplier of power and automation products, systems and service solutions for the entire value chain from power generation to the transmission and distribution of electricity. Our offer spans transformers, HV products, systems for power transmission and solutions and automation for integration and interconnecting power grids - to enable a stronger, smarter and greener grid. The FACTS technology enables power system owners to increase capacity in the existing power system while the electrical stability improves. As a result, more power reaches the customers at a minimal environmental impact, shorter project lead time and at lower investment costs. At the FACTS unit in Västerås, our expanding team develops and sells this groundbreaking technology to customers in the global market.

ABB (ABBN: SIX Swiss Ex) is a pioneering technology leader in electrification products, robotics and motion, industrial automation and power grids.
