hela Sverige OHB Sweden is a Swedish provider of space systems and develops, builds, tests and operates satellites for different kinds of space missions within communications, earth observation, space research and exploration from low-orbiting satellites via geostationary ones and all the way up to interplanetary missions.
We are now looking for an Electric Propulsion engineer for our next telecom mission.
SCOPE
You will be part of the Propulsion team and responsible for the technical procurement of electric propulsion equipments and related: engineering activities, AIT and procurement aspects of the Electric Propulsion subsystem. This will include the development of a mechanical based pressurizing system, and the procurement of all the components of the subsystems: valves, pressure transducers etc. It also includes the procurement of cold gas thrusters and tanks.
Support to architects analysis will be part of the duty.
Some subassemblies will be developed in house, and supervision of the in-house activities in collaboration with the others entities is required. Support engineering activities to the subsystem analysis will be required. All activities will be led by the Electric Propulsion architect. You will also be actively nurturing innovation in this field of activities. The duties are:
• Consolidation of the Electric Propulsion Subsystem architecture
• Consolidate the technical budgets for Electric propulsion proposed architecture
• Perform the subsystem analysis: budgets (mass, power, I/F, TM/TC) and analysis (gauging, plume)
• Conduct the design of the PSA
• Conduct the development of the PSA and constantly update the project on the progresses (reporting)
• Verify the performances of the equipments being procured, mitigate and correct any deviation
• Support negotiation with the customers and suppliers
• Implement the gauging technique as required by the project
• Consolidate and Document the Verification and Control Approach
• Propulsion Equipment procurement
• Prepare, review and upgrade equipment specifications
• Negotiate with suppliers and establish a policy in line with procurement processes
• With the project members lead or support equipment reviews
• Management of the propulsion subsystems implementation on spacecraft
• Plan engineering and production team work in the project
• Plan test activities after subsystem delivery to the spacecraft prime
• Balance requirements between system engineering, propulsion engineering and AIT.
SKILLS
Engineering MSc or higher
Electric Propulsion knowledge, engineering understanding in thermodynamics and mechanics
Ability to take part of a teamwork
Ability to work autonomously (decision, reporting)
Fluent in English
Ability to travel
