Responsible for Driving EHS across Sweden and the wider Nordic region within GE Power and supporting EHS within the North Europe Sub Region. The Nordic Region EHS Leader role is also the primary point of contact for providing expertise and guidance in all aspects of EHS.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide EHS leadership to all levels of the GE PS Nordic Organisation.
Engage & promote the OneEHS philosophy within GE PS Nordics, within the GE Affiliates & within GE contractors/sub-contractor partners.
Ensure positive open transparent reporting is in place across PS Nordics - provide Accurate & Timely reporting of EHS Leading / Lagging indicators & status of any initiatives / improvement efforts.
Full support of all EHS aspects of a project including Pre Planning / ITO through to lessons learnt & continuous improvement.
Provide focus for compliance and continuous improvement and participate in EHS related projects.
Maintain an understanding of GE EHS procedures and laws / regulations applicable to the Nordics and bring to the attention of the business as appropriate.
Assist with the preparation of budgets as necessary to support the business.
Undertake any reasonable EHS activity that assists the business.
Travel within the Nordics region
The right individual can also be located at any other location in Sweden closer to a GE facility.
Qualifications/Requirements
In-depth understanding of EHS concepts and principles gained through formal education and substantial work experience.
Imperative that the applicant has meaningful hands on craft experience within a similar industry (Engineering, Construction) - minimum significant years.
Formal EHS qualifications to minimum Safety Diploma or equivalent.
Experienced in taking business / units to a positive EHS position through application of Project Management skills.
Track record towards pragmatic EHS & problem solving.
Be able to take control of a situation and manage unplanned events - Have good Incident investigation skills.
Ability to work in a team environment and contribute positively to the overall aims and objectives of that team.
Influencing skills at all levels of an organisation.
Highly computer literate (Mails, Slides, Reports, Databases, Gensuite.....)
Developed (oral and written) communication and diplomacy skill set with the ability to influence others by presenting sound and logical arguments tailored to the audience.
Desired Characteristics
Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to assess situations make judgments based on practice or previous experience.
Strategic mind-set and strong business acumen.
Ability to work in changing environments, see through complexity and strategically promote an inclusive/diverse workforce.
Needs to possess the tenacity / determination needed to play a pivotal role in Operationalizing EHS.
Demonstrated ability to drive strategic agenda using knowledge of the organization and its employees.
Capable of handling multiple issues and/or projects simultaneously and executing to completion.
Excellent collaboration, influencing, project management, organizational and change agent skills.
