About the position
Perido is looking for an Editor to one of our clients, an independent and important agency of the European Union. The position is placed at their office which is nicely located just outside of Stockholm city. After an introduction at the agency's premises the work can proceed mainly from home due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Your daily tasks
You will work in the editorial office at the agency to take part in producing the in-house journal. You will have a close collaboration with peer-reviewers and authors, and perform tasks such as:
Providing high quality editing
Proof reading articles
Process articles in the article submission system
Perform editorial tasks in collaboration with your colleagues
Support the editor-in-Chief in all day-to-day editorial tasks
Your qualifications
We believe that the right person for this job is accurate and have experience in editing and writing texts in English. You have a great commitment in reading and reviewing material thoroughly and you have an eye for details. In addition, your ability to organize your work and perform under pressure is excellent and you strive to keep a constant communication with your colleagues to achieve efficiency.

Requirements
Education at university level, or other relevant post-secondary education and relevant professional experience
Experience in editing and writing texts in English, preferably in the area of scientific texts
Proof-reading and copy editing experience
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).
Excellent command of English (spoken and written) at the level of a native speaker
Meritorious
Having worked for a scientific journal or in publishing
Having worked with XML workflows
Background in communicable disease epidemiology, laboratory or biomedical field
Contract type and hours
Full time. Start in the mid of April. End 30 of September 2021, with possible extension.
