<span style="line-height: 107%; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: SimSun; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-fareast; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB; mso-fareast-language: ZH-CN; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">Complete Vehicle Attributes (PKV)<span style="line-height: 107%; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: SimSun; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-fareast; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB; mso-fareast-language: ZH-CN; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;"> is responsible for Validation in the area of Attribute, Field, Reliability and Durability as well as representing Volvo Cars final customer. Validation is performed according to customer oriented virtual and physical methods, in rigs, at test tracks and public roads, in different environment all over the world. The department is also responsible for management test drives for Volvo Cars. <span style="line-height: 107%; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt;">You will be part of a group that is responsible for a durability testing on complete vehicles. The group consists of eight engineers and each engineer work actively in departments project teams. Each engineer is also responsible for one or more system areas.
As Durability Validation Engineer you work with assignment including test performance in specified test methods, analytical work, dismantling of cars, reporting issues, present results, material supply etc. The tests are related to both durability and functional characteristics. They are done in accelerated form to simulate the type of stress and wear to which the vehicle is subjected throughout its service life. The tests, well defined by test methods, are performed in test cycles. The most known tests are VPT, LPH and CORCAR.
Main responsibilities:
* Perform Long term testing as an Durability Validation Engineer in the team
* Initiate and perform analysis, actively contact item owner and describe testing issues. Actively operates in technical system area
* Report testing issues, in cooperation with related project, and verify suggested solutions
* If applicable at test end, show the test car to the project audience, describe problems and write reports
* Control that the test cars has correct status and if applicable, secure correct Hard Ware status.
* Plans and takes on responsibility for the disassembly of the car
* Test planning and performance in specific project as a group team member in departments project teams
* Close cooperation with the proving ground test drivers and mechanics
The assignment requires also close collaboration with project engineers, test drivers and mechanics. You will attend to meetings at Volvo Cars in Gothenburg on weekly basis.
Required qualifications:
* BSc in Electrical Engineer, Mechatronics, Mechanic or other equivalent technical experience.
* Good complete vehicle knowledge
* Passion for current and future customers and cars
* Strong presentation skills
* Fluent in English , written and spoken
* Driver's license B
Meriotorious qualifications:
* MSc is considered meritoriou
* Knowledge within hybrid, electric, and fuel cell technique
* Experience in product development
Personal qualities:
* Highly structured and used to summarize and present the status of your work
* High personal energy and ability to take own initiatives with a drive being a "doer
* Good in cooperation and communication (both verbal and written)
* Good social skills to cooperate with other members/teams/organizations
* High grade of patience and flexibility regarding i.e. time and resource planning
* Experience of complete car testing and mechanic work
