About ETC:
Energy Technology Centre (ETC) is a not-for-profit research organization that provides both research work and professional services to academia, public agencies and industry. Focus area of research is thermo-chemical conversion of biomass and provided services are related to applications in combustion, gasification, and bio-refining processes. ETC currently has 15 employees, but with an ambition to expand in terms of human resources. Our aim is to work in an open and creative environment that promotes cooperation and team spirit.
ETC currently look for:
Driven engineer researcher for taking lead in R&D work around pyrolysis oil from biomass and wastes. Your full-time work will be distributed among the following activities:
1.Lead project team and experimental work in cyclone based pyrolysis oil production. Main tasks:
• Planning of experimental campaigns together with the rest of the project team
• Perform fundamental characterization of a new process for production of pyrolysis oil from biomass
• Compile and digest experimental data obtained from performed experiments
• Provide the basis needed for optimization of the cyclone reactor for maximal production of valuable products (oil and char)
• Paper writing together with the rest of the team
2. Assistance in providing professional services for the industry. Main tasks:
• Initiate internal or external consultancy services in experiments
• Share personal expertise to other projects and teams at ETC
• Project management
Note there is also a possibility to perform PhD studies or make an initial 12-18 months Postdoc within this position (the latter requires a PhD degree in relevant topic)
About you:
You are an experienced, communicative and cooperative person who individually can perform experimental work and document scientific results. Furthermore, you have the following qualifications:
• MSc degree in appropriate field of engineering (e.g. mechanical, chemistry, energy)
• PhD within the area of thermo-chemical conversion of biomass is meritorious
• High level in English writing
• Understand Swedish, spoken and in text
• Some years of documented work experience in experimental research.
