hela Sverige As Director Trademarks within the corporate Legal & Tax function you will be responsible for the strategic planning concerning the protection of our brands by trademarks and domain names. You manage a team consisting of a Trademark Counsel and an IP & Legal Administrator and network with colleagues in Marketing and Communications as well as Trademark Coordinators in more than 40 market companies and a world-wide set of external IP law firms.
The Trademark team protects our globally recognized portfolio of brands against infringement, misuse and degeneration. You can expect the full exposure to trademark management together with strategic advice at every level. The position reports directly to the VP Legal & Tax for Development & Engineering.
Key tasks are to provide advice on trademark & domain name matters with a focus on communication and marketing functions by developing effective working relationships with the relevant brand managers. This includes training commercial colleagues on trademark matters.
The Trademark Director defines and implements corporate trademark & domain name policies, leads and supervise the trademark team with global responsibility to:
• Perform trademark availability screening/searches for new trade marks, and provide legal advice on availability to use or register the new trademark
• Register and prosecute trademarks and advise about countries in which to seek registration
• Manage and regularly review trademark portfolio
• Enforce trademarks in case of misuse and infringement
• Manage oppositions and cancellations of 3rd party trademarks
• Monitor competitors' trademarks registrations
• Negotiate disputes regarding trademark infringements and 3rd party claims
• Draft and provide advice on related agreements, such as cease and desist letters, consent letters, co-existence and trademark license agreements
• Manage all domain name matters: policy, registration, renewal, 3rd party requests and dispute resolution
Publiceringsdatum2008-11-17KvalifikationerA successful candidate is an Attorney at Law with and at least 7 years of professional experience as
in-house counsel or independently advising clients in a law firm in trademarks, domain names, copyrights and intellectual property litigation. Additionally you hold a strong commercial perspective. The distinctive interest in interdisciplinary subjects and ability to contribute as team-player will be very useful for this position. Fluency in English is essential, both written and verbal together with good interpersonal, intercultural and communication skills.
