We currently have the following job opening;
Director Software Development - Powertrain Engineering Controls & Calibration
The function area of Powertrain Engineering at CEVT is responsible for the development of transmissions and electric propulsion systems and the controls associated with these systems. The function area consists of 5 units, i.e. Advanced Engineering and Concepts, Transmission, Electric Propulsion Systems, Controls and Calibration, and Operational Management. Within the Controls & Calibration unit, the software department is responsible for the development and industrialization of the software for new powertrain systems. These powertrain systems are the main future and global technologies for the Geely group. They are employed in various powertrain configurations ranging from present combustion engines into new energy concepts. The software development is carried out in-house using state-of-the-art methods.
To strengthen our team for future challenges and projects, we are now looking for a Director Software development in Powertrain Engineering Controls & Calibration.
Role Summary
As Director Software Development you are leading and distributing the work within your area of responsibility. You and your team are part of the Controls and Calibration unit within the Powertrain Engineering area. The unit consists of four different module teams, i.e. Project, Hardware, Software and Test/Calibration. Together, the unit develops the control functions and software in present and future state-of-the-art, transmission centered powertrain solutions targeting a globalized customer base.
Part of the challenge is to develop the SW processes continuously to match the highly agile project environment.
Responsibilities and tasks
- Responsible for recruitment and competence planning for the team
- Lead and distribute the work within the area of SW development
- Participate actively in the sourcing process
- Verify and follow-up on performance vs target
- Secure delivery vs project deadlines
Required Skills and Experience
- Software Engineering degree minimum at a Masters level
- 10 years of experience of software development
- Global/international experience, preferably you have spent several years abroad
- Ability to create an inspiring and creative work environment
- Ability to inspire actions
- Good business acumen
- Excellent communication skills
- Positive attitude and ability to keep the team motivated
- Fluency in English, both oral and written
- Driven problem solver who takes initiatives and responds to changing priorities
- Ability to travel
- Cultural awareness, especially Asian - European culture
- Meriting is experience in agile SW development from a 7DCT transmission
- Meriting is experience from work as a Scrum master and SW developer for transmission software
