This position is based within Thermo Fisher Scientific's ImmunoDiagnostics Division (IDD), which has its global HQ in Uppsala, Sweden and develops, manufactures, and markets complete blood test systems to support the clinical diagnosis and monitoring of allergy, asthma and autoimmune diseases. With 1,600 employees worldwide, IDD is the global leader in in-vitro allergy testing and also the European leader in autoimmunity diagnostics.

THE ROLE

The Director Production Allergy leads the production unit at the Uppsala site, including Supply chain planning, Manufacturing and Quality control of manufactured products. A total of 200 people work in the different units of Production Allergy.

Your main responsibility will be to lead the Production Management team; ensuring delivery of existing and new products. The Director is responsible for developing the full production system in accordance to set targets, both short and long term. In conjunction with the Director Divisional PPI Business System, the Director Production Allergy is also accountable for executing the development of the PPI Business System within Production Allergy. The role also includes a responsibility for making sure that production is performed according to ISO 13485, ISO 14001 and other relevant regulatory requirements.

The Director Production Allergy reports to the Vice President Operations IDD and will be an integral member of the Global Operations Leadership Team. You will have seven Direct reporting managers and one direct reporting assistant.

Responsibilities include:
• Lead the Production Allergy Management team strategically and tactically; including Strategy Deployment both long and short term, Budget work and Resource optimization.
• Champion business projects and lead/participate in different cross- functional prioritization forums in close cooperation with Engineering, R&D and IT.
• Under the direction of QA/RA ensure compliance with ISO 13485, ISO 14001 and other relevant regulatory requirements and represents Production Allergy during internal and external audits.
• Act as a key member of the Global Operations Management team.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for someone with a Master's degree, preferrably within Chemical Production or Industrial Engineering, and several years of experience from a Manager role within a Production environment.

To succeed in this role you should have:
• In-depth knowledge of Production System and Production Management.
• Experience from working within life science, medical device, pharmaceutical or other health care industries.
• Experience of working with Lean and a track record of delivering sustainable business results.
• Experience of handling big volume increases within a segment with many end products.
• An ability to understand the business needs quickly and to translate them into actionable solutions.
• An ability to deal with ambiguity and the corresponding capacity to make decisions based on potentially incomplete information.
• Strong management skills and understanding of engineering and production projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in a business context.
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong relationship building skills
