At On-board Telematics we are developing the connectivity enablers as well as many of the connected services that are in the trucks. Our main enablers are the Telematic Gateway (TGW) and the android-based Service and Entertainment Module (SEM). For both components we develop main parts of the SW in-house and buy the HW and low-layer SW from suppliers.

On-board Telematics is growing and due to this we are changing the organization. Therefor we are looking for a Director On-board Connectivity Platform at On-board Telematics in Gothenburg. In this position you will have two group managers as direct reports, together with some key roles for the section, such as SCRUM Backlog owners and Architects. In total the section will be around 70 persons.
The two groups are responsible for bought components, such as the TGW hardware and some bought SW components as well as for the in-house developed SW.

In this position you shall build a high performing engaged team that is developing and delivering the next generation telematics gateway.

To do this You need to, in close cooperation with the Product Owner, the System, Function & Verification Director and purchasing:
• Lead and continuously develop the people in the department
• Secure the growth of resources and mature the department
• Secure that the team delivers according to plan and that the objectives stated in the strategic action plan are met
• Continuously develop the processes, methods and tools that are used by the department
• Regularly communicate to the team on performance, strategies and operations
• Break down business plan targets to the section and allocate activities to direct reports
• Secure a competence development strategy for the department
• Coach the direct reports on their personal development
• Follow up and track operations by means of KPIs and PIs reviews
• Take an active role in moving OBT into an agile development organization
• Manage the investments for the section
• Be an active member of the On-board Telematics management team
• Participate and contribute in applicable project reference groups
• Participate in relevant concept selections
In this role you will also take the role as RTE, Release Train Engineer, for the ART, Application Release Train, for the On-board Connected Platform. We are following the SAFe framework.

You will in this position report to the Vice President On-board Telematics.

We believe this is a position for a person that has the ability to work under demanding conditions and to create a successful working climate in these situations. As a person, you have a broad technical know how in the area, combined with very good people skills and a strong belief in agile methods. You have a strong ability to inspire, develop and motivate individuals and teams.

The following qualifications are required:
• Minimum Master of Science in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 10 years of experience of line and/or project management
• Minimum 10 years of experience of embedded system SW development, preferably for the truck/car industry
• Experience of agile methods, such as SCRUM and KANBAN
• Experience of Supplier management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
