The main product of the company is the LEON SPARC processor and the GRLIB IP-library used for System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions. In addition, support services, development tools and software targeting the LEON processor are sold. Our customers are found across the globe, mainly within aerospace and defense but also on the commercial side. As a digital design engineer at Cobham Gaisler you will participate in or be responsible for parts or the complete development process of system-on-chip designs based on our IP cores, from design and verification through implementation in the target technology to prototype validation. The development is mainly performed using VHDL and targets ASIC as well as FPGA. As part of our hardware team, you will also be involved in the development of our IP library that supports all major EDA tools and will work with programmable logic devices from Microsemi, Xilinx, and Altera as well as front-end ASIC design and verification. Our hardware portfolio consists of everything from bus infrastructure, system peripherals, and communication controllers up to microprocessors. Occasionally you will take an active role in troubleshooting our solutions integrated into customer's products, which can be challenging but at the same time very rewarding. Cobham Gaisler is a customer-oriented company with fast response to market demands. You will also take part in international development projects where short travels may be required. The position is based at our office in central Gothenburg, Sweden.
Engineering education; 2-5 years of experience preferred, with previous experience with FPGA and/or ASIC development. We require expertise within VHDL, experience with Verilog and C programming. Good written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably also in Swedish, together with a strong general interest in new technologies and an analytical mindset. You should have experience in some of the following areas: - Experience with FPGA tools from Altera, Microsemi and Xilinx. - Experience with ASIC design using Synopsys and Cadence synthesis tools, DFT and PG. - Experience with communication interfaces such as SpaceFibre, RapidIO, SpaceWire, Ethernet, PCI, PCIe, MIL-STD-1553B. - Interest in computer architecture, microprocessor design. - Experience from ASIC/FPGA design for aerospace applications. - Be proficient in using a Linux workstation environment.
