Electro-active polymers are an emerging class of materials with new revolutionary properties. A primary advantage of these polymers is the possibility to electrically control their behavior and properties, including their ability to swell and contract in response to a low voltage.
Micromuscle is today backed by venture capital investors including, Industrifonden, Cimon Medical and DSM Venturing, a unit of the Dutch major materials company Royal DSM (

We are currently is searching for an experienced polymer engineer/chemist to expand our team.
Work description
You will have a key role in the development of the next generation of our electro-active material. This will allow you to have a large influence on Micromuscle's technical development.
A large portion of the work consists of laboratory work where you plan and execute experimental tests, aimed at improving the material properties. Tasks will include polymer synthesis and characterization of its material properties.
The development work at Micromuscle is project based and the company has extensive international contacts.
Your background
• You have a PhD or Masters degree within chemistry or related fields
• You are experienced in polymer synthesis, material development (polymer), or related fields.
• Industrial experience, particularly from life science industry, is a merit.
• You are experienced in and appreciate chemical laboratory development work and have the ability to plan and document your work.
• We value if you are flexible, goal-oriented and idea strong.
• You speak and write English fluently.

Duration of work: 6 months (with possible continuation).
