Pulp and Performance Chemicals is a business unit within AkzoNobel. We are a leading global force in pulp bleaching technologies, paper chemicals, colloidal silica and expandable microspheres. Our 2,400 employees serve the pulp and paper and other industries in 35 countries.

We have an immediate opening for an individual who can fulfil the following key role as a Development Engineer within RD&I Chemical Analysis in Bohus.

Chemical Analysis is a central resource within AkzoNobel PPC. The department is performing analysis of raw material, products and environmental samples for the producing units in AkzoNobel PPC. Chemical Analysis takes part in research and development projects, market support, trouble shooting and development of new analytical methods. Twenty three people are working at the department mainly within the competence areas of wet chemistry, spectroscopy and chromatography.

The Development Engineer will work with performing analysis, method development and participation in R&D projects in our Wet Chemistry group.

Responsibilities

The main tasks and responsibilities include:
• Perform analyses together with clients
• Perform advanced analyses and method development
• Participate in R&D projects and activities
• Plan and perform activities as decided together with manager, project leader and client.

Requirements

• Master of Science in chemistry/chemical engineering or corresponding. Alternatively, a bachelor of science and three to four years of relevant working experience.
• Experience from analytical and laboratory work, experience from Wet Chemistry analysis and Quality analysis is considered a merit.
• Good analytical skills
• Good ability to cooperate
• Skilled in writing reports and presenting results
• Ability to network within and outside the organization
• Flexible with good interpersonal skills
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Interpersonal skills are of high importance and we are searching for someone who is positive, driven and have the ability to motivate and engage. It's also important you are curious and have a quality driven mind set.
