It's not about technology. It's about life.

The future belongs to those who are empowered by a great idea and have the ability to carry it out. At Volvo Cars our mission is clear: "To be the world's most progressive and desired premium car company and to make people's life less complicated". We have bold targets when it comes to innovation, sales and customer satisfaction and to make this happen, we need talented people on-board. People that want to make a difference and create the next generation of Volvo cars in a global, dynamic and respectful environment. We will support you to reach your full potential. Want to join us on this exciting journey into the future?

What's in it for you?

The Agile Release Train (ART) Electrical Infrastructure is a part of Vehicle Software & Electronics within Volvo Cars' Product and Quality organisation (P&Q). The ART is responsible for the entire vehicle electrical system. The engineering work is done in cross-functional engineering teams, organised according to the SAFe scaled agile framework.

The team EDS (Electrical Distribution System) Components is responsible for developing components such as cable channels, brackets grommets, electrical distribution boxes and fuse boxes. As a developer within the EDS Components Team, you will be involved in all tasks performed by the team, as coordinated by the team's Product Owner.

What you'll do

Your daily focus will be on cable channels, brackets and grommets, for which your team has the technical responsibility over time. You will lead and coordinate the development of these components in close collaboration with the ART's Component CAD teams and production suppliers. The work includes definition of requirements and other pre-requisites needed for the engineering work, as well as product documentation in Volvo Car's engineering systems. You will also follow project deliveries from timing and quality perspectives.

Do you fit the profile?

To be able to succeed in this role, we want you to have an education within mechanical engineering and/or CAD design, or similar competence achieved through working experience. You have been working at least a few years and have a good understanding of 2D-drawings and 3D-models. You are also fluent in English, both verbally and written. It is meritorious if you have experience in processes, systems and tools that are used for technical documentation within Volvo Cars, i.e. KDP and Team Center. Knowledge about tools for plastic components, and/or about wire harness design, is also an advantage.

As a person, you are an open-minded team player with great structure and planning skills. You are a highly driven self-starter, flexible and have a helpful approach to your colleagues.
