hela Sverige * Be a key player in the Product Management organization of the Global Product Group: track portfolio of solutions cost position, define should-cost, set target costs together with Product Managers.
• Establish, maintain and monitor DtV objectives and progress in deploying the approach; own the definition, implementation processes, methods and tools for improvement of solution cost.
• Drive profitability for current solution offerings through Design to Value activities with cross-functional global teams - identify and procure the relevant competitive set of solutions and then generate insights and opportunities through ideation, teardowns, clean sheets, prototyping, and other analyses.
• Work with and support customer insights team to identify the need for and develop design-research approaches, extracting solutions/product requirements and critical to quality attributes from customer needs analysis.
• Champion cost competitiveness initiatives of the GPG's product and solution lines; develop a common high standard for cost reduction across the GPG functions, which currently have different cost cultures. "Drive the change in the way we work with cost."
• Cooperate with global Business Unit function and cross Global Product Groups to ensure use of state-of-the-art methods from various contributing functions (engineering, SCM, etc.)
• Facilitate transfer of approved projects to project teams for execution, track on-going DtV projects achievements.
• Assure efficient communication with Stakeholders of progresses and trigger actions to remove obstacles to success.
The successful candidate will have a Degree in Business Admin/Economics or Engineering or related disciplines, and a Master's degree is a plus. It is very important that you have a few years of Project/Program Management experience, where you have led projects with cross-functional teams and have held accountability for results. Experience from working in cost-out programs, cost excellence and cost competitiveness is a benefit, but not a must. In addition, it would provide additional value if you have experience with design thinking and/or business case development.
To be a successful DtV leader, you also need to be resilient and used to working with a proactive mind-set, have an inter-disciplinary approach and ability to work efficiently across different functions. You have the ability to effectively interact with and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, and to work with remote teams in a highly matrixed, global environment.
It is beneficial if you have an appreciation for, and understanding of, the full product development process and activities and challenges faced by other functions - especially marketing, supply chain, and design.
You have a structured and analytical approach with an emphasis on critical thinking, root cause analysis, and problem solving with a demonstrated tenacity, i.e. experience trying multiple approaches to get to the right answer. You combine these skills with the ability to see the bigger picture and act strategically.
Experience in the power T&D industry is a plus, and because ABB operates in a complex, global environment, it is required that you have excellent English skills, both oral and written. This role requires superb communication and presentation skills overall.
