About the job
Together with your team, you're responsible for delivering CAD design, documentation, and relevant manufacturing and customer data. Working with product development, you support the delivery of technical solutions - enabling high performing, profitable, and industrializable product solutions. You make sure that we continuously expand future competences and possibilities by exploring new production technologies and the resulting design freedom.
As a leader, you promote a customer focused mindset and close collaboration with our production in development projects. To support the aim of reduced development lead times, reduced rework, and improved efficiency, you develop your team and ways of working. Furthermore, you build strong relationships with Offer Management, R&D and Supply, as well as with Technology Development, to ensure that the latest technology and working methods are applied - securing the development of products that contribute to profitable growth and exceed customer expectations.
The department is located in Sandviken, and travelling is a natural part of your job.
About you
To this position, we're looking for a leader who can be a role model for a team of design engineers. You have a degree within a relevant field and a track record of planning, leading in a complex environment and developing knowledge to improve your area of responsibility. It's meritorious if you have experience from production within the engineering industry and knowledge of design for manufacturing, state-of-the-art CAD, and PLM environments. Experience from metal cutting technologies and applications is advantageous, as well as experience in modern innovation and development methods. As we act in a global environment, you need excellent communication skills in English.
