Design Manager - Mullsjö
Job profile
Kongsberg Powertrain & Chassis Products is looking for a Design Manager located in Mullsjö, Sweden to lead the design and development of our SBW Actuators, designed for passenger cars. You will be a strong leader and guide a team of four engineers and delivering world-class products starting from concepts. Goal is to be market leaders within this product segment. In our designs, we use advanced injection molded plastics in combination with steel and other materials with electronics, electrical motors and mechatronics having a significant impact on our designs. The Actuator team was founded January 2017 and is growing together with many opportunities in an emerging market.
As a Design Manager you are responsible for:
• Leading your team in development and following of best practices, knowledge and solutions in alignment with the global team
• Develop and grow your team knowledge and adapt the competence to the market needs
• Development of methods and design solutions for current and future products together with a strategic 2-3 years development plan
• Development of the competencies in your team and coordination with your manager to deliver the right support to the projects
• Monitoring and balancing resources within your area and with your peers
• Securing fulfillment of deliverables in regards to time and technical cost
• Act as a leading example in regards of team work and cooperation
• Mentoring and coaching your team with the goal to have the most knowledgeable and service minded engineering team
• Visualize the purpose and goal throughout each task to the team members executing the task
• Create a fun and creative work environment!
Candidate profile
• Bachelor or Master degree in mechanical engineering or similar
• 3 or more years automotive experience
• 5 or more years working experience in CATIA V5.
• 5 or more years experience in manufacturing of plastic / plastic tools
• Great knowledge and experience in gear design
• Great knowledge and experience in electrical motor design and performance.
• Great leadership skills with a strong drive and a positive attitude.
• Experience with electronics design from the automotive industry is desired.
