The speed and the quality of our strategy execution will be the most important differentiator in the coming years ahead. For that reason, we are now looking for a Design Engineer for the axles and suspension development function within the R&D organisation.

Who we are looking for
To succeed in this role, you have experience in product development, ideally within automotive project management. You love to plan and be flexible and transparent in everything you do in the team. We challenge and push ourselves to the limit of technical challenges and understanding to achieve great results together.

Your responsibilities

• Develop wheel brake components for commercial vehicles according to ECE-R13;
• Integrate and Support activities in regard to electronic functions such as ABS, ATC & ESP;
• Analyze technical offers from brake suppliers;
• Prospect strategic suppliers to establish partnerships for development;
• Virtual and physical prototypes analysis;
• Manage the interface with strategic Chinese suppliers;
• Open mind to cut down costs and implement assemblies improvement;
• Be able to manage the project activities for brake components;
• Be integrated and aware about the different components and/ or sub-systems on rear axles, front axles, and suspension components for heavy-duty trucks;
• Manage technical analysis and generate reports from develpoment tests (Rig & Vehicle testing);
• Support Sprint reviews and PI planning of TRS area;
• Secure good collaboration within the team;
• Contribute with good communication;
• Work in a friendly and effective team to deliver customer value for our B+ customers in China.
• Availability for business trips to China to support the development process together with suppliers.

Your profile
You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical, industrial, or vehicle engineering with proven experience in Brakes development.

You must have:

• Proven experience working as a development engineer for Brake components and its functions;
• Entrepreneur mindset, with a positive attitude and a natural team-building mindset;
• Professional relationship-building approach and find it easy to work with other people, especially with people from different cultures (Chinese, Brazilians, Germans, and different nationalities)
• Have an incredible drive, self-motivated spirit, and like to take responsibility.
• Enjoy learning new things and have an excellent ability to absorb new information.
• Good holistic overview capabilities.

You should be fluent in English. Fluency in Chinese, Swedish, or German is considered an advantage. Relevant experience in China is an advantage.

Work location
The position is located in Södertälje, but business trips to China must be considered depending on business needs.
