The Vaccum System is part of the vehicle powertrain and you will be working with product development on some of the most advanced engines in the world. As a key member of the team, you will work in close cooperation with suppliers and a cross-functional global development team to secure project deliveries for both build to print and supplier developed components. You will be responsible for the planning, development and verification of vacuum pump, reservoir and regulator.
As Design Engineer you will be involved in the complete development process from concept and sourcing to product development, packaging/construction and quality assurance. This gives for a dynamic and challenging daily work and it is imperative that you are outgoing, structured and have a genuine interest in technology, in order to succeed. The work will be carried out together with a team consisting of other design engineers, test engineers, and CAE engineers. Further, you will have a close contact with other areas within R&D and our suppliers. You will be reporting directly to the Group Design Leaders, System Program Leaders and your Group Manager. And work together with the responsible design leader and follow the component development time plans. Further, you will be given the possibility to improve and deepen your technical knowledge of the system area and the chance to build a network within our company.
Main responsibilities
* Design of Vacuum system components
* Represent Volvo Cars towards different suppliers from all over the world
* Solve problems and make root cause analysis
* Create drawings and models of Vacuum system components using CATIA V5
* Document in Teamcenter (PLM)
* Work together with installation/packaging and other departments to ensure the best technical solution
Required qualifications
* B.Sc. Technical education or equivalent
* Experience in Teamcenter
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Good knowledge and experience in CATIA V5 is meritorious

* Positive, structured, analytical and pro-active mind set
* Ability to prioritize between different tasks to keep deadlines
* Communication skills and easily to connect with others
* Self -motivated with a driving force
* Business and performance driven
