The group Rotating Parts and Housings is a part of the Driveline section. It is a diverse group that consists of 20 engineers with different roles, such as system engineers, component engineers, design engineers etc.
The main responsibility area of the group is the in-house designed parts of the Volvo transmissions, e.g. transmission housings, gears, shafts and synchronizers.

Position description
You will be a part of our housing team dealing with mainly large high pressure die casted aluminum components. They weigh about 15 to 40kg and have a quite complex shape and function. You will carry out design and development work in new transmission projects as well as updates of our current housings in production.
The work is done in close cooperation with our own production factories as well as our suppliers.

Main tasks and responsibilities
• Be part of the cross functional team work with suppliers, machining and assembly plants, purchasing, quality assurance, aftermarket & service organization
• Advanced 3D modeling and drawing preparation for the components
• Run minor calculations in Pro-Mechanica
• Create, follow up and participate in the design and verification plan in the projects
• Contribute in refinement of our CAD methodology and documentation of the methods

Qualifications
• Knowledge from 3D modeling and drawing preparation, preferably in ProEngineer/CREO of complex die casted components
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
