Thule Group are now searching for a project oriented Design Engineer to the OES department in Hillerstorp.
The main challenge for this position is to further strengthen the relation between Thule and the automotive customers by supporting them with innovative solutions and by acting proactively, professional and structured.
You will design and administrate projects in a stimulating environment having direct contact with customers. In your role, you are responsive to customer needs and contribute advisory with your technical expertise already in the selling of the new product.
As a Design Engineer you will develop new components and products such as original load carriers and accessories with high quality within targeted cost budget and time plans in a fast paced environment towards Thule's automotive customers.
As a design engineer you will be evaluating technical solutions with respect to manufacturing methods, strength requirements, cost and aesthetics.
You will take an essential part in Thule's customer teams that are balanced and organized to meet the requirements from customer side (including sales, purchase, production, quality, industrial design, test etc).
Approximately 10-20 days of travel per year within Europe to visit customers, suppliers and Thule manufacturing sites.

Your profile:
An important requirement is that you have an academic degree in Mechanical engineering or similar, 3D-CAD competence (preferable Solidworks), documented technical knowledge as well as fluency in English and Swedish.
You have some years' experience of product development with proven success and are well familiar with plastic, sheet metal and/or aluminum. Former experience in the automotive industry is seen as an advantage.
Your social skills and ability to lead and coordinate activities are highly valued since you will have daily contact with both external and internal resources.
You are a pro-active enthusiastic person with an entrepreneurial drive, a "can do attitude" and a team player.
We trust you have a structured and professional approach with flexibility in mind and consistent in delivery.
